Is Pasta Healthy?

Can I lose weight without giving up pasta?

Many pasta varieties are made from refined flour and can contribute to weight gain. However, whole-grain pastas not only offer plenty of beneficial nutrients, but they’re also a great help for weight loss.

The Cardboard Dilemma

While nearly everyone enjoys the tender, chewy texture of white pasta, whole-grain varieties have a nasty reputation for tasting like wet cardboard.

But there’s no longer a need to stoically choke down forkfuls of heavy, flavorless, gritty brown stuff just because you want to eat pasta and still lose weight. Thankfully, there are some brands of brown rice pasta that offer whole grains with a light, tender, and flavorful taste.

The Whole-Grain Solution

There are several brands and varieties of brown rice pasta to choose from. Some are fabulous, while others are a bit mushy and tasteless. In our trials, we found that Tinkyada brand pasta cooked up firm, yet tender and had a great taste.

You can buy Tinkyada pasta from some major grocery stores, natural food stores or co-ops, Something Better Natural Foods, United Buying Clubs, online, or at Amazon grocery.
